There are seasons in our lives when God asks us to build, seasons when He asks us to wait, and seasons when everything we have been gripping so tightly begins falling away.
I used to think those moments meant something had gone wrong.
I don't anymore.
One of the hardest lessons I have learned in my own spiritual journey is that not everything leaving my life is a loss. Some things leave because I have outgrown them. Some relationships end because the version of me who tolerated them no longer exists. Some doors close because continuing to knock on them would require me to abandon myself. And sometimes God removes something because I was never going to have the strength to remove it myself.
That realization has not always come easily to me.
I am someone who loves deeply. I can see potential in people long after they have stopped seeing it in themselves. I have spent seasons over-explaining myself, giving another chance, extending another olive branch and trying to make myself understandable to people who had already decided how they wanted to perceive me.
Eventually, that becomes exhausting.
And this Leo eclipse feels profoundly personal because I know exactly what I am being asked to release.
The version of me who dims her light so other people do not have to confront their own.
The version of me who censors herself.
The version who believes she needs to explain every decision.
The woman who occasionally made herself smaller because she believed peace could be purchased through silence.
It can't.
Sometimes peace arrives when you finally stop negotiating with what God has already asked you to leave behind.
The Leo Solar Eclipse Isn't Asking You to Become Someone New
The Leo eclipse isn't asking you to become someone new.
It's asking you to stop abandoning who God created you to be.

But:
What am I finally willing to release?
The version of myself who needed everyone to understand me?
The relationships that required me to betray myself in order to maintain them?
The communities where belonging came at the price of authenticity?
The fear of being fully seen?
The belief that something outside of me has to arrive before my life can finally begin?
There is a season for calling things in.
And there is a season for opening your hands and allowing God to take away what you have outgrown.
What God removes, stop chasing.
Because sometimes what disappears from your life is creating room for the very life you have been praying for.
Why This Leo Eclipse Feels So Personal to Me
I have my Midheaven in Leo, and the Midheaven is traditionally connected with career, reputation, public life, vocation and how we are perceived in the world.
So when I sat with the symbolism of this eclipse, I didn't have to wonder very long about what I was being asked to examine.
My public voice.
My work.
My visibility.
And my willingness to stop censoring myself to make a small group of people comfortable.

When emotions feel heightened, I come back to the body. Spirituality should not require us to abandon our physical selves.
For me, nourishment, hydration, living foods, herbs, time outdoors and intentional rest are ways of reconnecting with my body while I process what is happening internally.
There isn't a scientifically established "eclipse diet," and food does not need to change simply because an eclipse occurs.
These are nourishing foods and rituals I personally associate with feeling grounded and cared for during reflective periods.
Water-Rich Fruits
Watermelon, berries, citrus, grapes and other fresh fruits can feel wonderfully hydrating and simple.
I love foods that still look alive.
There is something beautiful about cutting open a watermelon, preparing berries or making a colorful bowl of fruit and remembering that nourishment doesn't always need to be complicated.
Fresh Green Juice
A fresh green juice is one of my favorite rituals.
Cucumber, celery, leafy greens, lemon, lime, herbs and a little apple are combinations I often return to.
For me, the ritual matters almost as much as the juice itself- the slowing down, preparing the produce and consciously choosing to nourish my body.
Grounding Whole Plant Foods
If your body is asking for something more substantial, consider simple whole-food meals built around foods such as sweet potatoes, squash, lentils, quinoa, leafy greens, avocado, sprouts and fresh herbs.
Listen to your body rather than turning an eclipse into another reason to restrict yourself.
Herbal Teas for an Eclipse Evening Ritual
I also love working with herbs as part of an intentional evening ritual.
Not because an herb magically "clears eclipse energy," but because making tea can become an embodied cue to slow down, unplug and listen.
Lemon Balm
Lemon balm makes a beautiful aromatic tea and has a long history of traditional herbal use.
Chamomile
Chamomile is another lovely option for an evening ritual, especially when you want to replace scrolling and stimulation with something quieter.
Ginger
Fresh ginger steeped in hot water with lemon can make a warming, simple drink.
Rosemary
I love rosemary both culinarily and symbolically. Add fresh rosemary to roasted vegetables, potatoes or other plant-based meals and allow the preparation itself to become intentional.
If you take medications, are pregnant, have a medical condition or are considering concentrated herbal extracts or supplements, speak with an appropriate healthcare professional or pharmacist first. Herbs can interact with medications and are not automatically safe simply because they are natural.
Everything You Need Is Within You— and Around You Already
This may be my favorite realization of this entire season. We spend enormous amounts of our lives searching outside ourselves.
For approval.
For certainty.
For someone to tell us we're making the right decision.
For the perfect relationship.
For the perfect sign.
For the perfect moment.
And sometimes we become so obsessed with finding the next thing that we stop recognizing what God has already placed around us.
Everything you need is within you and around you already.
That doesn't mean we never need teachers, healers, physicians, therapists, mentors, friends or spiritual guidance.
It means the purpose of guidance should never be to make you dependent upon someone else's voice.
Good guidance should help you hear your own voice more clearly.

The Difference Between Intuition and Fear
This is something I wish more people talked about.
Intuition and fear can both be loud.
But they don't usually feel the same.
