Sleep is {in my humble opinion} one of the most valuable health giving rejuvenating and anti aging things you can give yourself each night! Yet, so many of us struggle with falling to sleep at a decent hour or waking up in the middle of the night and not being able to go back to sleep.
Over the years I have generally developed a good sleep wake cycle. That being said, when I’m excited or stressed, my sleep exits the door! This is called insomnia! I’ll be the first to tell you, I can go from looking like a super model to a super freak with even a short bout of insomnia!
Below are a few of the items I ALWAYS have in my bedroom to ensure a great nights sleep! Let them work for you too!
My Top ten bedroom items to fight insomnia, anxiety mold and pathogens!
1)Lavender Essential oil ~ I put Lavender essential oil on my sheets right before my head hits my pillow!
2) Hypo allergenic mattress ~ This is a MUST! Mattress and boxsprings are sprayed with TOXIC chemicals such as fire retardants! No one should be sleeping in a sea of chemicles!
3) A snake plant ~ Snake plants can actually help you breathe at night with their oxygen releasing properties! I sleep with one on my nightstand!
4) An aloe plant ~ The ever healing allow plant is also an oxygen releasing plant! Oxygen helps us to relax before bedtime!
5) A salt lamp ~ Salt lamps have a plethora of health benefits! They are soothing for people who suffer from allergies due to their air purifying properties! This is enough for me to have one on my bedside table.
6) English Ivy ~ Got mold? Not if you are growing your English Ivy plant! It reduces airborne mold by 94%
7) White Jasmine essential oil spritzer ~ Not only does white jasmine smell incredible, it also reduces anxiety and insomnia!
8) Valor Essential oil ~ I love putting this essential oil {by Young Living} on my big toe to help me fall asleep quickly!
9) 100% Organic linen or cotton sheets I’ve always opted for 100% organic cotton sheets until recently we visited the “man~pan~ion’s” mother in Portland. She had linen sheets and i must say after sleeping on them, I felt spoiled! I just ordered my first set this morning!
10) An essential oil diffuser always burning Ylang Ylang ~ Ylang Ylang is touted about for its sensual scent and skin healing properties. What many don’t know is it is excellent for insomnia too!
